Miao Wang is a Beijing-born New York filmmaker whose work is informed by her cross-cultural perspective and grounded in an observational, cinematic style. She is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Miao has directed and produced three documentary features: Admissions Granted (MSNBC Films), Maineland (SXSW Jury Winner, NYT Critic's Pick), and Beijing Taxi (NY Magazine Critic's Pick), along with shorts including Ani Liu: Eye Heart Womb (PBS American Masters), Made by China in America, and Yellow Ox Mountain (PBS). Her films have screened at major festivals and venues, including the Guggenheim Museum, with theatrical, broadcast, and digital distribution in the U.S. and internationally. She also directs, produces, and edits commissioned and branded content for clients including the Guggenheim Museum, Criterion Collection, Vulcan Productions, Vice Media, Ogilvy, DuPont, Philips, Microsoft Design, and Time Inc. Miao's work has been supported by Impact Partners, Chicken & Egg, Firelight Media, Sundance Institute, the Jerome Foundation, New York State Council on the Arts, Tribeca Film Institute, IFP (Gotham), and the Flaherty Film Seminar. She holds a BA in Economics from the University of Chicago and an MFA in Design and Film from Parsons School of Design.

Damon Smith is an award-winning filmmaker, writer, and story consultant based in New York City. His producing credits include 100 YEARS OF WARNER BROS. (Max, 2023), SISTERS WITH TRANSISTORS (Metrograph Films 2021), ANBESSA (Berlinale 2019), MAINELAND (Special Jury Award, SXSW 2017), BETTY: THEY SAY I’M DIFFERENT (IDFA 2017) and the IDA-nominated WE THE ECONOMY and FOCUS FORWARD: SHORT FILMS, BIG IDEAS, which screened at more than 90 film festivals worldwide, including Sundance, Tribeca, IDFA, Melbourne, and Busan. Prior to his work as a producer, Damon was Head of Programming for Film & Animation at Babelgum, Editor-in-Chief at FilmCatcher, and a contributing editor of Filmmaker Magazine. In 2009, he created and curated Project: New Cinephilia, an acclaimed online magazine and international symposium on the state of the art of cinema, hosted by the Edinburgh Film Festival. Damon also co-produced the 44-episode online series Reverse Shot Talkies and is the author of Michael Winterbottom: Interviews (University Press of Mississippi, 2011).
